Every year thousands of seagoing vessels call at the Port of Rotterdam, bringing and taking with them millions tons of cargo.Every ship and its cargo are met and guided by an agent who represents the interest of all parties: shipping companies, charterers, ex- and importers, and forwarding agents. Their work is not restricted to the port only. The modern shipbroker and agent increasingly acts as a complete Supply Chain Manager.
In turn the Association of Rotterdam Shipbrokers and Agents (VRC) monitors and represents the common interests of shipbrokers and agents in the port, using the combined expertise of both the ‘active’ members and the ‘knowledge centre’ associate members. In all sorts of contexts, for topical issues, for the short and long term. In this way the VRC makes a major contribution to the quality and the future of the Port of Rotterdam.
