HMM (Netherlands) Shipping B.V. situated in Rotterdam, acting on behalf of our European Headquarters in London, currently has a vacancy available at its Regional Operations Center (ROC) for the function of Vessel Operator & RCC Coordinator.
The concerned department is situated in our Rotterdam office, however, covers activities throughout Europe and reports directly to our European Headquarters in London.
The Regional Operations Center (ROC) comprise a team of vessel stowage planners, RCC coordinator and dangerous cargo experts.
As Vessel Operator & RCC coordinator, you will represent and protect the interests of HMM within the THE ALLIANCE with regards to operational matters within Europe (including Mediterranean). You will propose or review contingencies (mainly scheduling related) which are of the best interest of the THE ALLIANCE. Also, you will be a spokesperson for various structural operational matters related to the Joint Working Procedure as agreed amongst the partners. You will also monitor the HMM operated vessels during their European rotation and keep the coastal schedules up to date

  • Represent HMM within the THE ALLIANCE on operational matters in Europe (including Mediterranean)
  • Coordinate contingency proposals and communicate contingencies amongst internal stakeholders
  • Attending weekly conference calls with various terminals
  • Coordinate berthing windows with terminals and liaise with partners in case of berth conflicts
  • Maintain internally used berth line up to spot potential berth conflicts
  • Provide pro-active movecount information to terminals
  • Send coastal schedules of HMM operated vessels within Europe
  • Process and internally distribute coastal schedules of vessels operated by THE ALLIANCE partners
  • Assist vessel stowage planners where required, including but not limited to review and approval of Out-of-Gauge / Breakbulk cargo requests.
  • Good communicator; clear and concise speech and able to listen and evaluate situations.
  • Pro-active and be alert to opportunities.
  • Have sufficient perseverance.
  • Work accurate and structured.
  • Ability to remain calm and able to prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Understand and able to work with different cultures.
  • Knowledge of the stowage planning program CASP is preferred, but not required.
