HMM Netherlands Shipping – Logistics Planner
As Intermodal Planner, you are responsible for the day-to-day execution and monitoring of intermodal container flows across the Benelux region. You ensure that import, export, and empty container movements via rail, barge, feeder, and trucking are planned, executed, and followed up accurately.
Working closely with the Intermodal Supervisor, terminals, barge and rail operators, feeder partners, trucking companies, and internal stakeholders, you help maintain high service reliability, cost control, and operational visibility across the intermodal network.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and execute daily intermodal container movements (rail, barge, feeder, trucking)
- Create and monitor transport orders and milestones in internal systems
- Proactively follow up on delays, omissions, congestion, or deviations
- Liaise with terminals, depots, and transport providers
- Update planning systems with accurate status information
- Escalate risks to the Intermodal Supervisor when needed
- Support cost control and invoice clarifications
- Ensure compliance with SOPs and service standards
- Contribute to process improvements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 1–5 years’ experience in intermodal or transport planning
- Understanding of Benelux logistics infrastructure
- Strong organisational skills and resilience under pressure
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel)
- Fluent in English; Dutch preferred
