HMM Netherlands Shipping – Export Documentation Officer
At HMM we don’t just move containers — we enable global trade. From our Rotterdam office, you will be part of a worldwide shipping network, working closely with customers, overseas offices, and our Global Service Center in India to ensure flawless export documentation.

What will be your role ?
As Export Documentation Officer, you are responsible for preparing and releasing export documentation in full compliance with international shipping regulations, customer instructions, and HMM internal standards. Your work is critical to the quality, reliability, and reputation of HMM as a global carrier.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Export Documentation – Prepare accurate Bills of Lading (Master & House B/L) based on bookings, manifests, and customer instructions
- Verify shipment details in line with international regulations, HMM policies, and customer requirements
- Process amendments and corrections following HMM approval procedures
- Bill of Lading Release – Release Bills of Lading (Original, Seaway, Express Release) after all compliance checks
- Coordinate internally to confirm freight payments and release conditions
- Ensure timely delivery of final documentation to customers, partners, and HMM offices worldwide
- Communication & Global Coordination – Act as HMM’s primary contact for customers on export documentation matters
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Finance
- Liaise daily with HMM overseas offices and the Global Service Center (India)
- Handle inquiries, clarifications, and escalations in a professional and solution‑driven manner
